Movie Mashup: "Pure" by Jacob Bricca

Pure from Jacob Bricca on Vimeo.

Well that was fun, wasn't it? That's what you're supposed to think after watching any of these movies featured in this wonderfully edited mashup by Jacob Bricca which showed up over on Vimeo. I think it's interesting to see how many similar action sequences are featured in nearly all of these movies. People running in front of cars, getting smashed through windows, semi-trucks in deadly car accidents, helicopters blowing up, and of course explosions, explosions, EXPLOSIONS. Some of these movies are really good (see list at the end of video), far better than your average action movie but even then they still feature many similar chase sequences and fall back on old action ploys just like poor action movies like Point Break and Speed (sorry Keanu). Just goes to show how much audiences have come to expect the same thing from action movies and still seem to complain about movies all "being the same" or "too similar." Well, it's our fault in the end, really, for making such movies famous and then every other filmmaker wants to copy them. Isn't that funny? Anyways, great video.
